Créé en 2015, le collectif COMMUN, est un groupe pluridisciplinaire dont la collaboration commence dans les ateliers de l'école d'architecture. Il a pour objectif de mutualiser les compétences et les moyens humains tout en ayant la capacité de se réinventer selon les opportunités de projets. Le collectif propose de s'intéresser aux usages et de les exercer à travers une architecture à la fois pragmatique et inventive, qui s’adresse à tout le monde : simple et libre, utile et ouverte, capable de s’adapter aux besoins futurs et de se transmettre comme patrimoine. De fait, depuis 2015, l'expérience du collectif grandi au gré de plusieurs réalisations, à différentes échelles: les projets de rénovation et d'extension d'habitat, la restructuration d'une école puis, en 2017, le FAV. Chaque projet est l'opportunité de rechercher des façons d'exprimer avec poésie l'architecture, la ville et le paysage en inventant de nouveaux espaces singuliers et de nouvelles expériences sensibles.
Le projet 2017 du FAV Montpellier, sera représenté par le binôme Sophia Villepinte (architecte) et Jeanne Bénony (diplômée en architecture).
Founded in 2015, the collective COMMUN is a multidisciplinary group whose collaboration started in the workshops of the school of architecture. Its aim is to combine knowledge and human resources while having the capability of reinventing itself around a new team according to project opportunities. The collective proposes to work on our uses and to put them into practice through an architecture, both pragmatic and inventive, addressed to everyone: simple and free, useful and open, able to get adapted to future needs and to be transmitted as a heritage. Indeed, since 2015, the experience of the collective has grown in accordance to the realization of various projects at different scales: refurbishment and extension of living spaces, restructuring of a school and, in 2017, the FAV. Each project is an opportunity to look for way to poetically express architecture, city and landscape by inventing new singular spaces and new sensitive experiences. The project for the FAV-2017 will be represented by the partners Sophia Villepinte (architect) and Jeanne Bénony (graduated in architecture).

Certains lieux ont le génie d'éveiller des émotions ressenties de notre passé. L'installation dans l'hôtel Rozel a pour but de stimuler ces émotions: celles qui sommeillent en chacun de nous comme le miroir de notre propre histoire. Lien entre art et architecture, l'installation vient interroger les sentiments que provoque un espace, ainsi que l'expérience sensible de son parcours. Au centre, elle dévoile des objets qui sont l'interprétation par l'architecte, des souhaits et émotions exprimées par son commanditaire. Au coeur de la cour, le visiteur se glisse dans l’étroitesse d’un passage entre les épais murs du patio et le long d’un mur blanc ou au détour d’une courbe, et il est invité à observer la mise en scène de l'image métaphorique de ses propres émotions nostalgiques. Là flottent des objets, symboles de lieux vécus, provoquant en chacun de nous un retour sur sa propre histoire, son enfance et ses premiers dessins.
Some places have the genius to awaken emotions from our past. The installation in the Hotel Rozel is aiming at stimulating these emotions: those that sleep inside each one of us as the reflection of our own history. Link from art to architecture, the installation raises up the question of the feelings caused by the space, and the sensitive experience of its pathway. In the center, it reveals objects that are the architect's interpretation of the wishes and emotions expressed by his sponsor. In the heart of the courtyard, the visitor slips into the narrow passage between the thick walls of the patio and along a white wall where at the bend of a curve, he is invited to observe the staging of the metaphorical image of his own nostalgic emotions. There, objects float, symbols of lived places, provoking in each of us a return on its own history, its childhood and its first drawings.
