Diplômés en 2005 des écoles d’architecture de Lyon et de Grenoble, nous nous sommes rencontrés dans une agence parisienne autour de la conception d’un immeuble de bureaux. Suite à plusieurs expériences professionnelles en tant que chef de projet, nous évoluons chacun de notre côté en libéral pour nous retrouver selon les opportunités, sur la conception de projets concrets ou de concours ouverts. Nos regards complémentaires sont l’occasion d’un débat fertile dans lequel nous mutualisons nos savoir-faire et spécificités : architecture mais aussi design, photographie, mobilier, bois, éco-conception,… Notre pratique de l’architecture vise l’innovation par la création de lieux inédits, à la fois poétiques et riches de sens. Le projet s'élabore sans dogme ni stratégie préétablie, alimenté par des allers retours constants entre le dessin, la maquette et l’image. L’architecture naît ici du rapport qu’elle entretient avec son contexte, visant à créer un nouvel équilibre urbain : une réalité augmentée.

Having graduated in 2005 from Schools of Architecture in Lyon and Grenoble, we met in a Parisian architecture firm while working on a project for an office building. After having gained substantial experience as project managers, we each started our own practice and we collaborate from time to time on projects and competitions. Our individual visions, although complementary, spark creative debates to which we each bring our own know-how and specialization in architecture as well as in design, photography, furniture design, materials, and sustainable design. Our architectural practice encourages innovation by creating original places that are both poetic and meaningful. The project is developed with neither dogma nor pre-established strategies. Rather it is fed by constant back and forth among drawings, models, and images. Architecture emerges from its connection to its context in order to create a new urban balance, by means of augmenting reality.

Avec le projet «Gold fish», nous souhaitons offrir au visiteur un temps de rêverie et de contemplation, l’installation figurant un ailleurs ici propice à la méditation. A travers un décor théâtral composé d’un sol noir dont émerge un étang d’or habité de carpes, l’installation révèle le volume de la cour et en modifie notre perception. Réinterprétation de la figure du jardin zen, cette composition abstraite et singulière offre un contraste harmonieux avec la cour. Ici les matériaux s’opposent, comme la surface noire du sol qui répond à la pierre claire des murs. De même, les formes dialoguent ; celles fluides et asymétriques de l’étang d’or apportant la contradiction à la géométrie très structurée des bâtiments. Enfin, à la permanence de l’hôtel particulier s’oppose la surface changeante de l’étang. Précieuse et éclatante cette matière en transformation perpétuelle par le jeu des reflets parachève la contradiction, conférant à la scène un caractère étrange et hors du temps.

With the project “Goldfish”, we hope to offer the visitor a moment of dreaming and contemplation, an installation appearing outside of time that is suitable for meditation. Throughout the theatrical décor composed of a black ground, from which emerges a golden pool with carp, the installation reveals the volume of the courtyard, which modifies our perception. Reinterpreting the zen garden, this abstract composition creates a contrasting harmony with the courtyard. Here the materials oppose one another, like the black surface of the ground that responds to the light stone of the walls. At the same time, the forms are in dialogue; these fluid and asymmetrical forms of the golden pool contradict the structured geometry of the buildings. Finally, the permanence of the architecture stands opposed to the changing surface of the pool. Precious and dazzling, this matter is in perpetual transformation by the play of reflections that formalize the contradiction, creating a strange, timeless atmosphere.
