Tous issus de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Lyon, c’est en parallèle de leur diplôme que se concrétise une première fois leur envie de travailler ensemble.
Faire en sorte de créer la commande pour sortir des sentiers battus et façonner une expérience singulière. Renouer avec la matière et la mise en œuvre en s’essayant à l’expérimentation construite. Faire bouger les lignes en jouant sur la place du concepteur, dans le projet comme dans la société. L’association se regroupe autour d’une pratique de l’architecture entendue comme vecteur de transmission et de projection collective. Prendre le temps de faire les choses sans se précipiter et ouvrir au maximum les processus de projets à des implications diverses et spontanées. Le collectif se positionne sur des sujets urbains parfois sensibles, au moyen d’outils et de propositions décalées, afin d’opérer un changement de regard. Une manière pour eux de concrétiser des envies de faire plurielles en remettant l’usage, la rencontre et l’appropriation au centre des débats.
It was during their final graduation at the Lyon's Architecture School that the members of Pourquoi Pas !? fullfilled for the first time their desire to work together.
The idea is then to be able to create a project which goes out of the already written lines, and to build a unique experience. Reconnect with the material and the process of construction by venturing the reality of the building process. Move the boundaries by playing with the position of the designer within the project and the society. Members of Pourquoi Pas !? gather around the idea of architecture as a vector of transmission and a vector of a collective projection. Being able to produce things slowly, without rushing, in order to open the project to every process and spontaneous implications. The association is especially interested in sensitive urban issues, for which they propose unusual answers and tools, in order to change point of views. This is, for them, a way to concretize multiple desires to produce by putting the uses, the encounters and the appropriation at the very center of the debates.

Il existe tout un mythe autour de la quête du trésor qui fait basculer le rapport à la fortune vers des considérations plus poétiques que matérielles. Dans tous les récits d’aventure, le héros passe par des phases de doute, voire de résignation, avant de finalement toucher au but. Un émerveillement qui suspend le temps à l’instant de la précieuse découverte. L’installation est une mise en scène sensorielle qui fait appel à l’imaginaire des contes et légendes. Il s’agit de recréer le petit évènement enchanteur qui nous fait sentir que l’instant est unique. Le dispositif convoque ainsi autant la vue que l’ouïe, hypnotisant le spectateur accroché au mouvement en action pour une poignée de secondes. Au croisement de la nuée de papillons s’envolant à notre approche, ou du bref souffe de vent faisant virevolter tous les disamares « hélicoptères » d’un érable ; l’installation rejoue la fameuse image qui fixe l’expérience à jamais. Et si tous les légendaires trésors n’existaient en fait qu’à travers ces instants volatiles qui les révèlent.
"There is a myth going around the treasure’s quest that sways the wealth from materialistic considerations to poetry awareness. In all the stories of adventure, the hero is passing through doubt, even resignation, before reaching, at last, his aim. A wonderment which suspends time, precisely at the moment of the precious discover. The installation is a sensory staging, appealing to the universe of tales and legends. The purpose is to recreate this tiny enchanting moment which made us feeling the originality of the instant. The configuration calls in vision and hearing in the same way. The spectator is hypnotized and attracted to the movement, in motion for a couple of seconds. The swarm of butterflies flying off as we approach, the blows of the wind making the maple’s achenes circle in the air; the installation plays again this famous picture which fix the experience forever in our minds. What if all this legendary treasures were only existing through these volatile times which reveal them?
