Le point de départ de leur réflexion est de mettre en scène un matériau millénaire aux caractéristiques étonnamment contemporaines : le liège. Ils ont décidé de sublimer sa pérennité et sa durabilité en proposant une installation qui est avant tout une étape dans un processus global. En effet, , ils présentent à Montpellier une mise en oeuvre atypique de ce matériau dans le dessein de ré-exploiter la matière sur un chantier d’auto-construction et ainsi prolonger la vie de leur projet. L’installation proposée excite la curiosité par l’irrécusable présence de ce mur : il ne crée pas une frontière absolue car l’appareillage laisse entrevoir la cour Jacquet, mais par sa brutalité met le visiteur au pied du mur, l’oblige à la confrontation pour pouvoir pénétrer dans celle-ci et ainsi en découvrir sa vénusté. Ce sont les qualités intrinsèques du matériau qui créent toute l’attractivité de la proposition.
The starting point of their reflexion is to display a millennium material with surprising contemporary characteristics : the cork. They are decided to sublimate its continuation and durability in proposing an installation that is above all one step of a global process. Indeed, they are showing in Montpellier an unconventional implementation of the cork with the aim of re-using the material for a self-construction site, and thus extend the lifetime of their project. The installation stimulates the curiosity by the presence of such a wall : it does not create an absolute border because the apparatus gives us a glimpse of the cour Jacquet, but by its brutality to get the visitor with its back against the wall, forced him to the confrontation in order to get into it and discover beauty. It is finally intrinsic qualities of the material that are creating all the attractiveness of the proposition.

FLCDa est né de l’association de François Lis et Clément Daneau diplômés ensemble de l’école nationale supérieure d’architecture de Grenoble en 2013. Ils obtiennent l’année suivante leur habilitation à la maîtrise d’oeuvre en nom propre et livrent aujourd’hui leurs premières réalisations. Leur parcours est sous tendu par la dualité liant la dimension mentale du projet, l’importance de la théorie au désir de construire. Ainsi, afin d’enrichir leur apprentissage théorique, ils participent à plus d’une vingtaine de concours étudiants et divers projets leur permettant de compléter leur formation initiale. De leur volonté de se confronter à la matière et sa mise en oeuvre naîtra la collaboration avec Maxime Lis, menuisier et designer. Fascinés par le travail de l’artisan, le savoir-faire et le soin du détail, c’est désormais dans ce sens qu’ils développent leur production afin de retrouver un peu de «la main qui pense»
FLCDa was born of the association between François Lis and Clément Daneau, both Higher National Architecture School of Grenoble graduates in 2013. They obtain the year after their clearance for working under their own name and deliver today their first works. Their career path is underpinned by the duality linking the mental dimension of the project, the importance of theory to the desire to build. Thus, in order to enrich their theoretical learning, they participate in more than twenty student contests and in various projects, enabling them to complete their basic training. From their will to deal with the material and its implementation arises the partnership with Maxime Lis, carpenter and designer. Fascinated by the craftsman’s work, the know-how and the attention to detail, it’s now in this direction they develop their production in order to get a little bit of « La main qui pense » back.
