Depuis 2008, Tri-oh ! Ateliers développe et revendique la diversité en s’appuyant sur les parcours personnels de Javier Pena Ibanez et Cristina Sanchez Algarra : urbanisme, paysagisme, art vidéo, photographie et architecture. Ce collectif est né de leur rencontre à l’École Nationale d’Architecture de Madrid ; convaincus de l’intérêt de se situer au croisement de plusieurs disciplines, leur production est néanmoins marquée par la volonté de développer une forte démarche théorique basée sur l’analyse architecturale et sociologique. Il s’agit de changer le regard sur la ville, d’approfondir dans la démocratie et la participation des citoyens, la rénovation et réhabilitation, la critique urbaine sur plusieurs chemins. Cette démarche riche part toujours de l’examen précis du bâtiment, du quartier, de la ville du territoire et arrive au détail des éléments plus petits.
Since 2008, Tri-Oh! Workshops develop and claims the variety by leaning on the personal routes of Javier Pena Ibanez and Cristina Sanchez Algarra : urbanism, landscape painting, video art, photographs and architecture. This group arose from their meeting at the National school of architecture of Madrid; convinced of the interest to be situated in the crossing of several disciplines, their production is nevertheless marked by the will to develop a strong theoretical approach based on the architectural and sociological analysis. It is a question of changing the glance on the city, of deepening in the democracy and the participation of the citizens, the renovation and the rehabilitation, the urban criticism on several roads. This rich approach always leaves the precise examination of the building, the district, the city of the territory and arrives to detail of smaller elements.

Cité surprise, cité surprenante est une installation qui change le regard sur Montpellier. Des boîtes envahissent la cour de l’hôtel et nous attendent avec leurs surprises. On se balade autour, on s’introduit et on se cache à l’intérieur. Le visiteur, également protagoniste de l’installation, découvre la ville cachée, les espaces oubliés, les vides… Les boîtes se transforment alors en caléidoscopes, avec des vues surprenantes sur la cour, vers le ciel et sur le reste des visiteurs… Ouvrez les yeux!
Surprised city, surprising city is an installation which changes the glance on Montpellier. Boxes invade the court of the hotel and expect us with their surprises. One trotts oneself around, one is introduced and one hides inside. The visitor, also protagonist of the installation, discovers the hidden city, forgotten spaces, the vacuums… The boxes are transformed then into kaleidoscopes, with surprising sights on the court, towards the sky and on the rest of the visitors… Open the eyes!
