QU'EST CE QUE LE FAV ?
Le Festival des Architectures Vives est un parcours architectural à destination du grand public, qui permet de découvrir ou redécouvrir des sites emblématiques de la ville de Montpellier depuis 2006. Cette manifestation invite le visiteur à aller au contact de ce riche patrimoine en lui proposant des installations dispersées dans la ville. A Montpellier, il prend place au cœur de la ville historique et propose un parcours reliant des hôtels particuliers et cours intérieures, majoritairement privées, qui ne sont usuellement pas visibles pour les visiteurs.
Chaque installation créée par des équipes d’architectes permet de mettre en avant le travail d’une jeune génération qui propose, invente, expérimente et explore de nouveaux champs de conception de notre environnement. Ainsi, le festival leur offre la possibilité de présenter une réalisation au travers d’une installation au cœur de l’écrin prestigieux et remarquable qu’offrent les cours d’hôtels particuliers. Chacune d’entre elle ouvre un dialogue entre une architecture patrimoniale et des installations contemporaines.
Depuis 2006, le FAV est organisé annuellement par l’association Champ Libre, présidée par Elodie Nourrigat et Jacques Brion, architectes à Montpellier.
L’accès est entièrement libre et gratuit pour tous.
WHAT IS THE FAV ?
The Festival des Architectures Vives is an architectural path for the general public, who can discover or rediscover the historical landmarks of the city of Montpellier since 2006. The event invites visitors to go in contact this rich heritage by offering installations scattered around the city. In Montpellier, it takes place in the historic town and offers a path connecting mansions and courtyards, mostly private, that are usually not visible to visitors.
Each installation created by architects teams allows to highlight the work of a younger generation which is inventing, experimenting and exploring new design of our environment fields. Thus, the festival offers them the opportunity to make a submission through an installation in the heart of the prestigious and remarkable setting offered courses and mansions. Each one opens a dialogue between heritage and contemporary architecture installations.
Since 2006, the FAV is organized annually by the association Champ Libre, chaired by Jacques Brion and Elodie NOURRIGAT, architects in Montpellier.
The access is completely free and open to all.
